Targeted Intervention Among Migrant Populations for HIV Care and Prevention
Since May 2026, Blossom Trust has been implementing a Government-supported Targeted Intervention project in partnership with the Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society (TANSACS). The programme aims to reduce the risk of STI/HIV transmission and improve access to healthcare, prevention services, and social support among vulnerable and high-risk populations.
Background
Migrant populations are particularly vulnerable due to factors such as mobility, limited access to healthcare services, unsafe working and living conditions, social isolation, and lack of awareness regarding HIV prevention and treatment services. Stigma, discrimination, and language or cultural barriers can further prevent migrants from seeking timely healthcare and testing services. These challenges increase the need for targeted, community-based interventions that ensure equitable access to prevention and care.
Our Project
Blossom Trust implements community-based interventions focused on HIV prevention, awareness creation, and improving access to healthcare services among migrant populations in the Karur district. Through outreach activities, counselling, awareness sessions, and healthcare linkages, the project aims to support vulnerable communities in accessing essential prevention and care services with dignity and without discrimination.
